New Spring Chocolates, First Blog Post

Well, this is exciting! I am writing my first blog post. I feel like I have so much to say because new things are happening all the time, but I will mostly keep to the subject of chocolate, for the sake of time. First of all, I'd like to express my gratitude to all of you that help make this little chocolate business possible by purchasing our chocolates. We truly wouldn't exist without you. Also, thanks to my husband (Arnold Ortz - the man, the myth, the legend), my Mom (the lovely and talented Christy Gibson), and my hard-working employees (love you Maria, Chelidha, and Bena). They are the reason that I am able to write this today.

Now, on to the important stuff: SPRING CHOCOLATES. I have just added several items to the website, including my favorite: peanut butter & sea salt eggs. They are like our peanut butter bar, but prettier and shaped like an egg. It's like the perfect ratio of peanut butter and chocolate and salt - a must have for Easter. We are also making raspberry butterflies again this year - organic raspberry jam and dark chocolate-raspberry ganache in a dark chocolate shell - so pretty and delicious, raspberry and chocolate go so well together. One of the new items that we are offering this year is caramel-marshmallow eggs - I made a fluffy vanilla bean marshmallow and a smooth sea salt caramel, put them in a hand-painted dark chocolate egg shell with some dark chocolate ganache and voila - Easter perfection! One last creation in honor of St. Patrick's Day is a special bonbon consisting of Irish whiskey caramel, irish cream marshmallow, and irish stout ganache. You may recognize the ingredients as the contents of a certain shot that you may drink to celebrate St. Patty's Day, maybe not, but I can't write it here because the name of it is offensive. We are calling it St. Patty's Day Celebration Bonbon and we are offering it in 3 packs and in our assortments this month only. It's quite boozy and really yummy, I hope you get a chance to try it.

Thank you for reading my first blog post. I will try to do these once a month or anytime I have something exciting/important to say. Since you read this to the end, I will let you know that I am offering free shipping on orders $35 and up on March 9.

Be well and eat good chocolate,
